Living in the Nether Zone

Sue as a result of a concert comment and the prompting of Holy Spirit recently re-connected with a Web page called “Second Wind Network”. As a consequence of this act of placing ourselves at God’s mercy, and that of the advertisers on the web page our prospects have taken a new turn.
Second Wind is a Mission/Ministry Placement sight. Missions register with their vacant positions, people wishing to serve also register with their skills and work background. Second Wind filters the personal registrations then where appropriate advises the Mission of potential candidates.
The upshot of this was that within days we had been contacted with offers to consider. One of these offers was to a place clear across the country, and the other three are interstate.
When we moved in here about six months ago we saw it as a long term move. The house ticked about every box that we had put on our wish list, and then some that we hadn’t hoped for. However two months ago, when the agent came through on an inspection, we received the news that a big slice of those ticks would disappear in the near future. It was almost as if Father was dropping a flea in our ear to not get comfortable.
Now we have the prospect of doing a lot of travel to a new adventure, and not just one adventure but one of four. The first contact the position clear across the country led to a meeting and discussion. The upshot of which is that the work may or may not be ongoing and was being re-evaluated. The others are all on the Eastern seaboard but all of them are out of the state in which we currently live and thus will involve all sorts of relocation ”trauma”.
At this point we have details of two positions of the four which leaves us still deeper in the “nether world”. We cannot even begin to consider the offers on their merits because one of the two that we have details on is being re-assessed as to its continuation and there are still two places that we know little more than their location.
While this can be confusing for us, we are confident that God has one place for us, and it may yet not be one of these four. The issue for us is to stay patient and wait on Father to clear the quandaries that are involved. It is a part of the human psyche to want to work out details for ourselves. Part of these decisions is what to do with our furniture, and what is the most appropriate vehicle for the future. These issues are all contingent upon what and where our next stop will be.
This is not the classic “Desert” scenario; we are looking forward to whatever is in God’s will for us. The point of a “nether place” is that there is an unresolved issue, one that is so easy to think that we can make decisions that make sense. For example if we buy a vehicle to go clear across the country then wind up in a city suburb, then we will have bought the wrong vehicle.
For those who may find themselves in a situation similar to ours may I suggest the solution that we are taking? God is in charge of every situation, it is imperative that you wait upon God rather than go off making decisions that may lead to uninformed choices that may dig you into a corner. I know waiting on God is often hard but ultimately the best place to be is right in the centre of His will.
