This last year has been an interesting one. When we moved into this house we had hopes of changing the town for the Master. We decided on this house for a number of reasons which included the back yard/garden area for Sue, and that she felt this house was as close to perfect as she could imagine.
Well to the best of our knowledge we have not changed anyone’s life let alone the neighbourhood and within four months of moving in we were to discover that the landlord had an application in to subdivide the block so that he could build another house at the rear of ours. Needless to say it took most of the gloss off our “perfect” house.
When we moved in Sue was constantly tired, the result of a cyst in her chest. That improved surprisingly, after we started frequenting the local gymnasium but recently the tiredness has come back a couple of months ago and now she is almost worse than when we moved in.
Now we are three weeks from having to move out of where we are living. At the moment we do not have an address to go to and just to add spice to our life when we do move we are planning to re-blend our family going to a bigger house that is capable of accommodating ourselves and our three adult kids, and our 4-6 cars. To top this off Sue is finally getting the cyst operated on a week before the landlord wants us out by.
All this may sound like mission impossible but it is not. We have confidence that the one we call the “Just in Time” God has us covered and that everything will work out just fine. He has just the right house and location lined up for us and Sue will be sorted in the operation and will be alright for the move. We may have to move for her but if that is the case then she will be fine with that.
The whole point of this blog is that it is OK to allow yourself to feel vulnerable as long as your confidence is in the One who has our best interests in mind. This is the basic truth of the verse in Romans about “All things working to the best for those who love God”
Jesus also told a story about fathers who do good things to their children and trumped it by saying that the Father would give so much better things to His Children. Father must be in control if we are to receive the best from Him. If we are not sure of His goodness and His love for us, then we will be looking over our shoulder to see if we can’t do better on our own devices.
Trust in God is essential if we are to be the best that He has for us and if we are to live the life that honours Father.
So we start on a new beginning without knowing the outcome of the arrangements that we are yet to make. This is not so unusual Abram left his family home to start a people of God and Moses took a people of God out of the land of oppression to populate the Promised Land.
Our Father is Capable of more than we might dream of. The solution is to let Him choose for us and surf on His goodness to give Him glory in His name Jehovah Jireh - the god who provides
Wow Brian your faith and trust in God inspires me so much. Praying for you as you let God choose for you.
