Vision Revisioned
Recently
I heard a message on a subject that I thought I had a fair handle on; I even
thought I had a fair line on the passage.
But things might have changed just a little.
The
upshot of my crisis of understanding was that this blog may take an entirely
different approach. Firstly while much
of what I have been writing up to now has been somewhat impromptu and relying
upon the Master to move my fingers. In
future I may be introducing an element of research to follow the Father even
closer in fact I will be using the word even as a guide before I start,
As
an indication of how this may word, I have a collection of verses on vision
awaiting my perusal. So I shall return a lot inspired. See ya soon
In
the New Testament the sauce of a vision is the province of Father himself. There is the rewrite of the Joel 2:8 passage
in Acts 2:17 where a reference to the last days the Spirit would be poured out
and young men would have visions and the old men would dream dreams. Of 19 references in the New Testament only
that one says anything about the difference between dreams and visions; all the
others are this person had a vision and responded to it.
I
take from these verses that there is only one source of vision and that is
Father. They are for a specific
recipient, for his or her response.
Admittedly vision is not for that person only, but in every case they
are to forward the Masters plan.
Consider
the plight of Zacharias who was in the temple performing the highest of
priestly duties when he received his message regarding the fact that his wife
and Mary’s cousin was pregnant. For his
doubt he was unable to speak for the duration of the pregnancy and when people
wanted to name John in the style of the family naming at which time Zacharias
answered his name is John.
If
you have ever had a vision you know that it is a major moment in your life. God revealing Himself to you is a high
emotion moment that makes us feel either wow or the last moment when Dad
contacted me directly we argued the toss because I didn’t feel capable of doing
this before because I rarely had been able to string together more than a short
250 words or so. But the beauty of it is
that with the Spirit of God I am capable of writing to the glory of God our
Father.
There
are two different types of vision one that inspires personal action and the
other is one that inspires action by others too. Peters inspired speech when 3000 chose to
believe is an example of the second type while in Acts 10 when he had the
vision of the unclean foods was as much a person vision while he was thinking
about the meaning of that vision along came the servants of Cornelius a soldier
in Caesarea who also had had a vision of Peter in Joppa who could help his understanding.
A
vision is God in action to move people in the direction that will achieve His
purposes and bring about a God result in the lives of His people. They also give us the evidence that God is involved
intimately in the lives of His people.
